Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit terms Ayu meaning ‘Life’ and Veda meaning ‘The knowledge of knowing one-self’. So Ayurveda translated into western terms means
“Where the knowledge of life exists”.

Ayurveda is also known as the sister science of Yoga, as both their goals are to eradicate all levels of pain; whether physical, mental or spiritual.

In Ayurveda we combine special types of herbal medicines and treatments for individual needs to detoxify, heal and cleanse the body.

I have always had a curiosity for food and herbal medicine but my admiration for Ayurveda came a few years ago through my Yoga practice.
When studying Yoga, Ayurveda has often crossed my path. When I began to read more, the roots and basics of Ayurveda simply made sense. Everything in Ayurveda is based on nature and its elements; Fire, water, earth, air and ether.

Two years ago this curiosity lead me to the South of India, where my Ayuvedic journey began. Studying under Dr. Sundara Raman in the Nilgiri mountains at the Mountain Top Clinic, opened a whole new world up to me. I am currently in the process of completing a three-year study course to graduate as an Ayurvedic consultant.
It is an honor to be learning and studying under my teacher Dr. Sundara Raman.
